GrindIndex lists RuneScape-like games, idle MMOs and RuneScape private servers. Private servers have their own list and are never ranked against original games.

Ranking

A game's rank is the number of votes it received here in the last 30 days. There is no monthly reset: each vote drops out 30 days after it was cast. Games with no votes are listed without a rank. One vote per game every 12 hours, checked by IP address and by in-game name.

Listings, votes and rank cannot be bought. The site has no ads.

Votes found to be fake are revoked: they leave the ranking and the game is told. Every change to these rules is dated on the rule changes page. Past months' top games are on monthly winners.

Status checks

Every 30 minutes we check each game. A private server that gives us its address and port is online when the port accepts a connection. Other games have their website checked. Player counts appear only when the owner publishes them at a status URL; we do not estimate them.

Numbers from other toplists

Once a day we read the public vote counts on the toplists below and show them on each game's page, with a link to the listing. They are not added together and do not affect the ranking here, because each site counts differently: per calendar month, per rolling 30 days, all time, or as a score. Some include paid bonus votes, which is noted next to the number.

Top100Arena: Counts run far above other toplists for the same servers, and paid Gold listings may count differently. Its numbers are marked on game pages.

Data

Rankings are available as JSON at /api/v1/games. New games and updates are in an Atom feed, and each game page has its own. Game owners can find the vote API and the rank badge in the docs.
